99% Rapists Men

FBI statistics say that 99% of rapists are men, regardless of the sex of the victim. 99% of rapists are men. Is that a reasonable thing to consider if I feel fearful of a man I don’t know? Is that a defensible cause to shoot any man that I honestly fear that my life is threatened by?

 

99% of rapists are men. If I stalk a man that I decide is an asshole and a fucking punk, up to no good, will I be set free by police because the burden of proof that I am lying in my beliefs is on THEM? If I just shot a man that was acting suspicious and was where I thought he shouldn't be, would I get the benefit of the doubt as the killer that my story was correct, while the story of the dead victim goes untold and unconsidered?

 

99% of rapists are men. What % of men are rapists? If I don’t know the answer to that question, does that give me a right to assume a man is likely a rapist because 99% of rapists are men? If I was honestly and TRULY afraid (by my own account because who can speak for me?), then my claim of fear alone releases me from liability for my killing of an innocent person.
